If nobody’s said it yet, make sure you drink plenty of water before your test! If you are dehydrated it is harder for them to find a vein and they might need to poke you more than once before it works. To answer your question it hurts a little, but the Kyle Larson American professional auto racing driver Navy Patriotic T-Shirt but in fact I love this disconcerting (and fascinating) part is having your blood outside your body. At least for me. I just got one today. I’ve gotten them maybe once a year for the last 3 or 4 years, so not as frequent, and it really is such a quick and easy thing. Yes, it can be uncomfortable when they insert the needle, but for me personally there’s no pain other than a split second pinch. I even watch them draw my blood because it’s pretty interesting. You can ask them about what the different vials are for if that interests you, or ask them about how they will test your blood. It really doesn’t hurt. Honestly it’s kind of just itchy? Bahaha. You’ll be fine. If you’ve ever gotten vaccinated, and if you remember what it felt like- compared to vaccination, having your blood drawn feels like nothing. If you could handle getting vaccinated then you’ll be shocked at how easy and how little pain there is when you go for your blood test. First time I had my blood drawn I didn’t even feel it, and I was around 10 or 11 years old. In my case the anxiety right before they put the needle in is worse. I dance with my nurse moving back and forth away from the needle for at least 2 minutes each time. Then I suck it up and look away. Stubbing your toe is more painful tbh
