I was livid, went home, spoke to my spouse about it, and he straight up told me to quit. Went in the Kyle Connor Hockey Player American for the Winnipeg Jets NHL T-Shirt Besides,I will do this next day, returned my shirts, and walked out. For background, I was promoted from lvl 0 to lvl 1 tech in 3 months, then placed at one of our customers locations as their onsite tech for a year. This was a contractually obligated placement between my company and the customer to have 3 techs onsite. I accepted a counter offer 6 months ago and have not regretted it. I seem to be in the minority here but it can work out under the right circumstances. For me I had a great relationship with my boss and was really happy in my role but was underpaid by ~$20k. I put in my two weeks and they countered with a $20k raise matching my offer. My boss also made it clear that the raise wouldn’t put a target on my back with him or the other directors and that they wouldn’t have offered a counter if they didn’t mean it. 6 months later and he’s kept his word. I’m still happy in my role and earning the market value for my position.

The often listed negatives are really only present with crap employers, in which case you probably don’t like working there anyway. You’re not guaranteed to like your next employer or any employer in the Kyle Connor Hockey Player American for the Winnipeg Jets NHL T-Shirt Besides,I will do this future. Get your money, but don’t overthink what makes you happy otherwise. I did it a couple months ago and I absolutely hate my job. I’m having panic attacks every morning before work, because I just don’t want to be there. I regretted it. I was at Amazon, got a great offer from Microsoft, but Amazon countered with a matching offer and said I would get promoted within a year, so I stayed. Ended up taking two years and my salary never ended up matching what Microsoft would have been due to stock preference. Also missed a chance to add another great company to my resume.
