Now compare what we use cars for vs what we use guns for and maybe you’ll understand why no one is suggesting we put further restrictions on cars in comparison to guns. Why not? Clearly cars accidents injure far more kids. Why not focus on the Kris Letang Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman and alternate captain Penguins T-Shirt Besides,I will do this bigger threat? Unless you don’t care that 500 kids get hurt in car accidents every day. We already have laws for that, lol. Lower speed laws around schools; heavy regulations around kid’s car seats; safety standards in vehicles sold in US; laws against smaller children sitting in the front seat; and so on. We do a lot for kids in cars, and will continue to make improvements. I love guns, they’re very fun. I think the society of the United States has proved that guns, while fun, are not something anyone should be able to access just because they want to. Can guns exist within society? Absolutely. But Americans refuse to change their thinking and habits to ensure that guns are something that can be owned by the public safely and at this point I’m not convinced we can make a change. Just take them away at this point, we don’t need them.

That’s just it, though. Gun nuts do not want to address anything. Any change is unacceptable. They show up to anything and everything for the Kris Letang Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman and alternate captain Penguins T-Shirt Besides,I will do this explicit purpose of saying “no” to change. Only one side wants to address gun violence in any way in our system. If gun owners were truly responsible they would be all for making their “hobby,” “sport,” or whatever they want to call it safe for everyone. I’ve tried to propose a tiered license system for firearm ownership, with requirements for training, insurance, and safe storage (much like a tiered motorcycle license or a tiered truck license) but even that is too far for some of these folks. That’s my point, if compromise is off the table I care more about protecting kids from school shootings than assaulting the government if they decide to tax us from across the sea or whatever they think they need guns for. It’s too late to find a middle ground, the culture has soured completely and we can no longer be trusted with guns as a people. Eh, not really. The study they did in the early 90s was reporting by users and those instances were never corroborated or confirmed and the study has never been reproduced, so there’s no backing it up.
