I think i will! I’m trying to push myself out of my comfort zone and get to know all my neighbors a little better anyways. I tend to keep to myself too much Living in the Kris Dunn American professional basketball player for Utah Jazz T-Shirt in addition I really love this south and I go to a specific grocery store in town because the black woman behind the meat counter says “what can I getchu baby”. And it cures my depression Was going to say this. I work with elderly folks and one of my clients said this to me right before walking out: “Gracias, mija que Diosito te bendiga” there’s this woman who directs traffic at this one crosswalk on this campus and every time someone thanks her she says “you’re welcome sweetheart, have a wonderful day” and it makes me so happy This one is actually so true tho. Just a few days ago I went to a hole in the wall bbq place and the owner was this older black lady and she served us the most delicious brisket I’ve ever eaten. Called me honey and stuff. She was so sweet One of my good friends was black, and any time that we would ride our bikes to his house his mom would make sure that I got fed regardless if I had already eaten or not. Amazing family. R.I.P. Geoff. You know the food is always good when they’re the older grandmas that got the flappy arms and the they be running around putting their foot all in the food it’s soooo good I’ve been to restaurants like this and the food is HOT DAMN AMAZING The best teachers I ever had were black women. I grew up in an all-white neighborhood full of a bunch of blue-collar bigots, but most of my school teachers were black ladies who commuted from other neighborhoods. They were some of the only black people I knew for a long stretch of my childhood. Aside from the fact that my parents weren’t racist, I also credit those teachers with opening my eyes at a very early age to the importance of judging people by their character and not being prejudice toward anyone because of their race or ethnicity. I had a lot of competing ideas being thrown at me by boyhood friends and their bigot parents, and I was able to quickly dismiss them all as ignorant morons because of my interactions with my amazing grade school teachers.

This is so cool! I grew up in the Kris Dunn American professional basketball player for Utah Jazz T-Shirt in addition I really love this opposite kind of school, as we had a mixed population, but mainly white teachers. Now, I teach at a school where a lot of the teachers are black, and I wish I’d had that. It’s so good for all the kids, white and black! They are absolutely phenomenal teachers, and our school has very, very few issues with racism. I do believe a big part of that is that the kids have both white and black teachers from a young age. being maternal and caring , especially older black women ( the black grandmamas who spoil their grand children / the older black women calling everyone honey and sweetheart ) and as a black woman who’s from louisiana i experienced this stereotype a Lot and have had it associated with myself as well
