Everything has been shaking in Grindavík since around three o’clock today, and residents are feeling constant tremors. There has been a lot of damage at the Korn Band Reload Festival 15 17 August 2024 shirt Besides,I will do this nursing home Víðihlid in Grindavík, which has been evacuated. Grindavíkurveg was closed this evening due to a large crack that formed in the middle of it. The road construction has completed temporary repairs, but the road will remain closed. Many residents have left the town and there has been a lot of traffic on Nesveg. The Red Cross has opened four mass aid stations, but they are in the sports hall in Grindavík, Vallarskóla in Selfoss, the sports hall at Sunnubraut in Reykjanesbær and in Kórn in Kópavogur. I decided to do some research, and while Iceland is generally considered to be part of Europe… the reality is more complicated. Iceland is part of the Mid-Atlantic ridge system. Meaning that the island of Iceland sits on both the European and North American continents. I was originally wondering if it was part of the third possible option. Where I sort of thought it might be like New Zealand, where we talk about it as if it was Australia’s little brother. But NZ is really just some islands on top of a small continent that is mostly underneath the Pacific ocean. But that isn’t the case with Iceland. Yup! There’s an area in Iceland where you can walk between the two plates! And swim between them, if you’d like.
