It’s very hard to spend decades with someone without kids unless you have a common goal like FI or traveling the world. Most 25 year olds can’t see themselves as parents because very few of their friends are at that age ( average age I believe for new mums is about 29). Your working, living, travelling, partying, having fun…I mean…who wants to give that up right? Go on holiday 3 times a year and have 2 cats, wouldn’t want it any other way. More pets in the future maybe! No, people do it mostly to not be lonely in old age, and to have family around. Being there for other family members gives a lot of people meaning in their life. In my experience family is closer than friendships, but often people have the desire for family driven out of them by growing up in bad families themselves. What a load of crap. How is having kids significant? The way the world is heading with over population, diminishing resources, cost of living crisis, why would you breed and inflict that on your kids? You just have to look, at how much of the population lined up to partake in a medical experiment to see how easy the digital control of the human race will be to instigate and free will becomes a thing of the past. Absolutely popping out another cog for the grind stone is the most signifying you can do. Smh
