Many are quite good hunters, bringing home birds and the occasional rabbit. If raised as an indoor cat, then a backyard space or catio would be more appropriate, but outdoor cats definitely enjoy life more. Outdoor cats often don’t wear collars but they strut around the outside pretty confidently. If you watch them for a minute, you can usually tell that they’re not lost. An indoor cat that accidentally got out will probably be more skittish, but like humans, all cats are different. If there’s no one around to ask (neighbours usually know which outdoor cat belongs to which house), snap a pic of the cat and keep an eye out for lost cat posters.
