Naah. Bigotry is rarely laser focused. You don’t meet very many people who are really antisemitic but also support LGBT rights or Black rights. You meet someone who’s antisemitic and they’re most likely going to also be racist, homophobic, misogynists. No guarantees of course, peoplare varied. But I know which way to bet it. The reason we have the Kira Cyan Rittgers Sagittarius Winter Snoopy shirt besides I will buy this concept of “left” and “right” is because beliefs tend to cluster. The left/right split notes the clustering of beliefs based on the question of whether a person believes hierarchy is some combination of necessary, inevitable, good, and beneficial, and those who don’t. So sure, it’s POSSIBLE for a person to be a rabid forced birther who is also in favor of LGBT rights and things white supremacy is bad. But it’s not likely. A majority of centrists/moderates are pro choice. And among those centrists who are personally or morally opposed to abortion, many nevertheless think criminalizing the procedure has little or no impact on actually reducing its occurrence and therefore take more of a “safe, legal, and rare” position. And even the minority of centrists who do want legal restrictions on abortion, most of that group still want exceptions for rape, incest, and life of the mother.

The most common form of centrist or moderate is fiscally conservative but socially liberal, yet their are other combos as well. The key is that each issue should be evaluated on its own merits rather retreating to to partly lines on everything. You just described the Kira Cyan Rittgers Sagittarius Winter Snoopy shirt besides I will buy this Democrats. “Socially liberal and fiscally conservative” I mean. The Republicans spend like a drunk frat boy with daddy’s credit card. Biden’s agenda in particular is very much in the mold of FDR or LBJ. Big social safety net provided by taxpayers and wealth redistribution via the tax code. Bottom line: Trump added $8 trillion to the national debt in just 4 years, but Obama added $8.4 trillion in 8 years and Biden is on-pace to add at least another $4 trillion in his first term. Not sure how we’d call annual deficits that top a trillion dollars, “fiscally conservative” regardless of which party is doing it.
