My opa has been doing the Killers of the Flower Moon shirt in contrast I will get this same thing for even longer, he even drinks regular coffee at 1900, and then goes to bed just fine a couple hours later I feel like caffeine doesn’t affect everyone the same. I can drink strong tea or coffee and hour or less before going to bed and I have no problems with falling asleep, and sleeping well throughout the night. I think you’re right about this. I’m on the opposite end of the spectrum, where I’m really sensitive to caffeine. I’m fine with one cup of coffee, but a second cup, even before noon, fucks up my sleep that night. The first cup will do the same if i drink it after noon. Also, if I haven’t had coffee in a few days, when I do drink it, i can feel my heart pounding, and my brain feels like it’s running really fast, and I can’t stop talking. It’s also worth noting that most coffee shops will give you two shots in a normal espresso based drink so you end up with more caffeine than a similar volume of coffee

My local coffee shop calls this a “black eye” which I never want order because it sounds like you’re saying something else. I wish caffeine gave me that kind of buzz, I drink two every morning and then another one about 5 or so in the Killers of the Flower Moon shirt in contrast I will get this afternoon/evening. Doesn’t alter my sleep patterns at all, I can (and have) drink about a pot of coffee and go back to sleep. I don’t drink coffee for the caffeine, it’s the taste and the warm drink for me. Regular coffee is coffee grounds that are poured over with water and are dripped through a filter, but the grounds are coarser. Espresso is very fine grounds that are pressurized (packed tightly) and extracted by pushing with water through the filter. What you’re describing as “regular coffee” can be anything from drip coffee to a pour over. If you’re into coffee those are quite a bit different from each other. If you go to Italy and ask for a “regular coffee” you’ll get an espresso.Yeah I’m just a general coffee drinker, not really going into the sects of the different coffee branches but if you’re looking for a real answer of what “regular” means, you won’t find it as you’ve noted already, cultures and countries differ their view of regular, just as they do anything else. So in terms of the OP comment above, they were prob referring to regular as an American, thereby saying a regular cup of coffee is a drip style coffee with coarse grind. That’s why you live in a place where espresso is the default style, like in my country. I normally ask for an espresso, but most people here just ask for a coffee.
