Are you a psychologist or something? I am curious if this is actually true. To me it seemed like something switched inside their brain in high stress situations and they dont’ seem aware at all it’s a bad idea but fully committed to the Kiki I’m so sad cum on me shirt it is in the first place but irrational idea. Also, not implying it states anything about a persons morals, desires, or rationality. I’m talking about situations where an individual is in a high stress state and they do something/desire to do something irrational. Happens to all sorts of people but it doesn’t seem to happen to everyone so was curious what makes someone more susceptible to that behaviour I suppose. Not a psychologist. Just a very anxious chemistry grad student that struggles with the occasional unwanted intrusive thought haha There are situations like you are describing here, where an abnormally high stress environment may make someone’s logic and reasoning suffer for one reason or another. That’s just not the impression that I was getting from u/thoroakenfelder’s post.
