Your content is pretty decent, you’re doing fairly good job I would say. And 7-9 minutes is a sweet spot many would agree. I have no technical proof of this, and it’s not always the case by any means. But longer videos seem to do well for whatever reason. I also edit full time for 2 large channels with combined 240 million views, and the longer ones also seem to do better more often than not. I can’t guarantee that will work for you or for your niche obviously. But it’s something I have observed in my travels. Just whatever you do, don’t try to stretch 8 minutes into 20 minutes. Needs to be an engaging 20+ minutes, not easy… One small tip is maybe work on your mic. It’s a little bit on the echo-y side. Maybe put some sound absorption in the room and or upgrade the mic. That was all that really leaped out at me, and kind of bugs me personally in general. totally. I honestly don’t know how these channels make the same content 3x as long and get that type of viewership. has to be a lot of repetitiveness. I won’t be going over 12 though. AHHH I just got the Shure MV7. I am filming tomorrow I am stoked to fix that echo. My apartment isn’t ideal and been doing what I can with sound absorption but going to a dynamic mic I think will change the game.

Just mentioning this because I unlisted several old videos I made that I cringed at and lost all those hours and was SHOCKED LOL. When you re-list them you regain your hours. Only guess I might have is that your videos are very cliche and not very original. There are a million of motivational youtube videos going around at the moment after a core group of them had pretty good success. One theory might be that there are now so many that people have become more desensitized to them. I think you’re following all the x,y,z of what “should” make a channel grow big, except originality. My advice would be to make it more personal and less “like all the others”. When I glance your channel, it’s all videos I’ve seen before. Why should I click on your videos instead of the already popular ones? I think you have all the skills ready, just need to make it more personalized and unique. Not like completely off-topic uninteresting, just hmm, like an element of uniqueness. An X-factor, something that sets you apart. Doesn’t have to be big, but something that shines through. Otherwise good job.
