They’re actually just Nazis: You’re in the Kenny Loggins American singer guitarist and songwriter T-Shirt and I love this government, and you’re a nazi. A bunch of your other nazi friends are also in government because that’s where the power is, and power is what Nazis want. You put this event on because you can, and because you’re a nazi. You don’t want people to know you’re in government, however, because you don’t control enough seats to be safe just yet. So you print yourself a fake ID or simply refuse to identify yourself, and then go about being your nazi self in the company of other Nazis. It’s kind of an open secret though that a lot of you are in government, because that’s pretty much one of two options for radical political groups to take. Because the US supports far right extremist groups at home and abroad because its infectious and more beneficial to the ruling class than far left which in the US doesn’t really have organization (for a lot of reasons) Google COINTELPRO here is a short summery from the Wikipedia about it “COINTELPRO (a syllabic abbreviation derived from Counter Intelligence Program) was a series of covert and illegal[1][2] projects conducted between 1956 and 1971 by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) aimed at surveilling, infiltrating, discrediting, and disrupting American political organizations that the FBI percieved as subversive.”

You can see how some people might think damn I wonder what we’ll find out they are doing today. It’s not that big of a leap to imagine inciting violence in a crowed or supporting organization on a covert level. The vast majority would be real people that are being manipulated by just a few. People will just create conspiracies if something doesn’t fit their narrative and it will only get worse with ai becoming more powerful
