Yup. Those companies are privatizing the Kenny & Hangman Shirt Besides,I will do this profits and socializing the risks. It’s ridiculous that taxpayers have to carry these parasites. Doesn’t Walmart one of the nation’s if not the nation’s largest employer have a high percentage of their employees on welfare? A corporations inherent definition/desire is to work employees to death and pay them as little as possible (preferably $0). So the “right thing” for the government by definition should be forcing a reasonable wage for employees at the expense of the corporations profit. It should be mathematically impossible to work full time (or even like 30-35 a week) and also get food stamps. It simply means the minimum wage hasn’t properly been adjusted. While in the Marines I discovered my family was eligible to receive food stamps. When my command found out that I was receiving them they freaked out and made me go to multiple money management courses and I got lectured about it by my entire chain of command all the way up to my squadron CO. I ended up telling them that regardless of how well I managed my money, if I’m eligible for a benefit that the government offers then I’m taking it. Good for you, sir. I hate thinking about all the folks out there that are eligible for SNAP, Medicaid, cash assistance, etc., but are not applying for the programs due to some stigma of receiving government assistance. The thing is that most of these programs are federally funded and the money then goes to the residents of your state, and then feeds into the local economy. It benefits the families, the local businesses, and the entire state for more people to receive the assistance from the government. Meanwhile in Florida I don’t make enough to move out of my parents’ into a studio apartment, but I make too much to be eligible for food stamps.

This is so ridiculous. Isn’t eligibility based on income? It’s not how you spend your income, it’s how much you actually get. In which case, no money management course will make you ineligible if they don’t increase your wage. … why wouldn’t you? Does anyone ever get scolded for taking too many legal tax breaks?
