Your opinion is natural and common for staff just getting into a professional setting, where all of their peers easily have enough money to cover their rent and even take vacations, etc. (for the Kenny G Playing Saxophone American Music Jazz T-Shirt and I love this most part). However, over time you will realize that these other aspects of a job will become more important over time – maybe never more than financial comp, but definitely viewed more valuable. Maybe say instead something like “I am searching for a role where I can meet my full potential”? I’m also all about financial transparency but if it’s not working, might need to try a different approach lot of comments here about “interview questions are designed to allow the interviewer to see how you answer under pressure, etc, etc”……and my opinion about the “why do you want to work here” question is that its designed to see how best you can BS and how convincing you can be

everyone knows there’s a handful of reasons people switch jobs: money, didnt get promoted in current job, fired, company lay off, corporate BS in current org, or transition to a more prestigious company……..either way, none of these questions have value in the Kenny G Playing Saxophone American Music Jazz T-Shirt and I love this actual interview where I am trying to assess if and how well you can do your job Growth, growth, growth. You want more money just say you wanted a position with more growth. If you fucking hated your last place (like me), just say you felt stuck and wanted to learn more somewhere else. Of course, the vast majority of people wouldn’t work for free, and no one would turn down more money, but money alone shouldn’t be your sole motivation for working at a job. You spend 1/3 of your days at your job at a minimum (8/24), and if you figure 8 hours of sleep you pretty much half your waking hours during the weekdays at work (8/16), which is a significant amount of your life. Having a job that you dread is a miserable experience. When interviewers ask you why you want to work for the company, they don’t care why you want to work for the company. Instead, what they’re really trying to determine is how well you’ll fit in and how easy you’ll be to get along with. Someone that sits there and gives a socially-appealing BS answer will be preferred to someone who may be more qualified but probably won’t get along with their coworkers or managers or care about their job.
