All the suffering I’ve endured, being raped, assaulted, being injured and having health problems and trauma, bad mental health, overdosing on drugs, seeing the state of the world, wars, factory farming, poverty, everyone dies… Child soldiers. The inability of humans living a comfortable life to lead a less comfortable life for the betterment of all mankind. The human toll of capitalism. Serial killers. Child pornography. Gluttony and impending resource scarcity. Racing toward various environmental/climatological/agricultural disasters. Israel being complete shit heads to the occupied zone (et al). 1500 rockets being fired at Israel in a night. My family history of depression and alcoholism. The ability to completely fuck up a kid without even realizing it. The ability to do everything right and have a kid end up completely fucked up anyway.

My partner and I keep flip flopping on the Keep your bans off my daughter fundamental human rights dad classic shirt What’s more,I will buy this idea of kids. What I keep coming back to is how fucked the world is and do I really want to inflict that on someone? I live in the US so the current politics going on about Roe vs Wade is not helping at all. I’m a teacher and I have absolutely no desire to have children. Seeing how fucked up 7/8 graders are now a days and the parents not taking responsibility for their own child and always blaming teachers/admins/anyone but themselves has made for a really toxic environment that I would not allow a child of my own to be brought up in.
