So fair disclosure i am australian so there is a cultural difference in play but that whole prince and princess concept seems wack to me. Like isn’t voting for the Keep calm and hug a donkey cartoon shirt so you should to go to store and get this cool kids for class captains for grade 6 early enough? Guess we gotta get them into the social hierarchy early Also paying for their artwork is silly unless it is like a special lunchtime project you already agreed to otherwise it is emotional blackmail as it will be so disappointing to your kid if you don’t buy. I ll pay the $3 for my child artwork. Then the next day send teacher a note “if you want your homework back please give my kid $5 and i ll put the honework in their backpack” Can any lawyers weigh in on how copyright law would work if someone is trying to sell someone else’s kid’s art?

Don’t pay shit. Dress your kid as a Punk and when they try and ask them if they made their donation tell them to say “YOU THINK THIS IS A COSTUME? THIS IS MY LIFESTYLE!” If my Massachusetts mother saw my art being held hostage, she would drive to the Keep calm and hug a donkey cartoon shirt so you should to go to store and get this school immediately, break down some doors and start yelling at that teacher. Then grab my art and leave. I’m fine with, “Hey your kids can wear a school appropriate hat on Fridays for $1” but charging to wear a Halloween costume around their friends is too much. And making me pay for something my child made is beyond that. This! My ex was an elementary art teacher and was always spending his own money to buy things for his classroom with no potential for reimbursement. I also think teachers shouldn’t spend their own money on things for the classroom with the expectation of getting the money back from the students.
