But meaningful long term change is hard, especially with how incompetent and corrupt African governments are. Mr Beast can drill a thousand wells but without oversight and upkeep most of them will be useless in a few years. 134 more repliesWell, simply put Mr Beast makes his money by being “for the Keanu Reeves Cum shirt In addition,I will do this people”. His popularity and money generating system is by doing things for people. So as cool as it is he is building wells for people it is literally how he makes money. He will spend millions on drilling wells and document it all then share it via YouTube and make money off “being a good guy”. I know I put quotes around things but I do think he is a good guy so no underlying tones there. So while the others you listed have a ton of money they are doing it purely out of doing good to the world which is expensive. Mr Beast has found a money hack, he does good and gets paid for it. Therefore it is much easier for him to do this kind of stuff. What happens to the wells after they’re built? People charging money for access, maintenance costs, liability, etc.

Glad they’re being built, but from previous anecdotal experiences I guess I’m not optimistic for the Keanu Reeves Cum shirt In addition,I will do this future of these wells after say…5-10 years. Because it’s way more complicated than a 10 minute Mr Beast video will make you believe. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not on the “Anti-Beast” train. I think he’s by far a net positive in the world, but this particular one is just stupid. Wells don’t just magically generate water, they pull water from the subsurface water table. That means that nearby reservoirs will go down, and anyone who has a well knows that the water measurement you get from a freshly drawn well is meaningless because the refill rate is highly variable. Those super duper expensive wells might only generate a few hundred gallons per day or less in the future, and without a reliable energy source they are useless anyways. If you just start sucking hundreds of gallons our of a normally untapped water table, the water will disappear very quickly. IIRC he dug them super deep which will help but it’s still not a solution, just a patch. Check in on those wells in 2 years and see how many are still functional, and you’ll get a better idea why people don’t throw millions of dollars at projects like that.
