I will never understand why someone thought it was a good idea to build a house next to a shoreline let alone on the KatsukI izuku shoto my hero academia shirt But I will love this sand itself. When it was built it was probably 100 yards from the beach, but with the hurricanes and global warming the beach has been disappearing for years. To put in perspective the main road on OBX get wash away every couple of years, during a storm, due to the same factors. The government likes to pretend to help poor people with policies that actually help rich people. In this case, the government guarantees insurance for homes that are taken by storms so long as the home is close enough to the beach. The end result is that rich people build houses like this one, the houses get destroyed (as expected), and then the rich people get all of their money back and then some. Meanwhile, poor people don’t have the resources or the wherewithal to go through the same process. Water is the most powerful force on this planet, moving it would be hella expensive and most likely compromise the integrity of the frame.

I feel like building a house that close to water, on sand, on stilts, is just asking to get wrecked. Their flood insurance must be unbelievably expensive. I hope all Americans who don’t live by the KatsukI izuku shoto my hero academia shirt But I will love this shore understand that we’re subsidizing these fortunate few who have a home on the beach. Most people could never afford 100% private flood insurance on the shore, so the federal gov’t offers subsidizes insurance to these home owners that the rest of us inland saps must pay for. What’s not a hoax is that barrier islands (like the Outer Banks) are designed/destined to move over time regardless of climate change. Climate change is 100% real, though this video has nothing to do with climate change. We will however see many videos of this happening to other houses in 50 years that is related to climate change.
