I suspect The Crown will focus on the Karter Rules T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this ramifications of 1997’s crash for the Queen and her direct family, but when Diana tragically died in Paris, the public grappled with the impossibility of losing a global royal icon. Diana died in a senseless accident—accountable only to rabid paparazzi—but there’s nothing like a senseless accident to get people clawing for sense, panning for reason in the unreasonable. Conspiracy theories were rife in the wake of the tragedy—inferring the queen bumped off Diana was a reach, your honor—but they represented an unwillingness to accept the situation, a nationwide coping mechanism that still simmers across the Internet today.

Karter Rules T-Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

But like Marty McFly’s hand at the Under the Sea ball, what we know to be true is fading. We can’t trust our tweets. We can’t trust our eyes. As fake news reigns and trust disintegrates, we’re battered by political and societal turmoil. World events are disjointed and brittle but conspiracy theories offers us something to sink our teeth into.
