This isn’t true for all families. This was how I grew up and I refused to put my children through the Kamaru Usman Nightmare Signature Nigerian-American professional mixed martial artist T-Shirt in addition I really love this same shit. It causes a very unhealthy relationship with food. My kids get kid sized portions, they’re encouraged to eat for nutritional benefit, not to finish the entire plate. Forcing a child to sit for hours, restraining them, force feeding them, hitting them, belittling them, all of that is abusive behavior. If this was ever done to you I’m so sorry. My husband was raised this way. He’d be made to eat until he threw up or he’d be punished. I’m still helping him undo that damage after 10 years of living together. Recognizing a healthy portion size and being able to stop eating when he’s just full are still very hard for him. I don’t know why parents do this. Anything that isn’t finished can always be saved for later! I have never seen anything like what you describe, which feels a little hyperbolic. I have however seen a lot of children refusing to eat their vegetables.

Sometimes kids really don’t know what they want. They could be really distracted with a TV show or a game and will say they’re full without having eaten a lot. Sometimes you have to push them (in a healthy way) to finish what they can. If I’m responsible for you until you are 18, you have to eat or CPS will come to my door and I have to explain you’re a little shit and they might take you away. Look, I’ve been a kid, you’ve been a kid, we’ve all been little shits in our lives at some point. A snack is a snack, kids don’t quite differentiate between a meal and just shoving anything in their stomach. That’s the Kamaru Usman Nightmare Signature Nigerian-American professional mixed martial artist T-Shirt in addition I really love this parents job for a few years. Its also important to teach your children about self control, healthy eating habits. My family never did any of those things but wouldnt let me eat anything but what was made for dinner. Because its rude to to have someone make food and say no ill have something else more to my liking.
