this makes it difficult for them to interact with people not in their box. it seems like it makes them too narrow-minded Simplistic, one-sided models of life and politics are easier to understand and express. So they spread better and go more viral. Big questions? Like what? If gay people should be allowed to exist? Yeah you could’ve “disagreed” about it when we were all squished together in the Justin Jefferson and JJ McCarthy Cartoon American football wide receiver T-Shirt but in fact I love this closet out of their view, but we none the less had to let it be because we were the clear “odd one out”. But then we found eachother, some of our loved ones and friends started accepting us and fought along side us until it was considered a bad thing to be homophobic, but then people grew tired of being called a bad person every 5 minutes (because they couldn’t shut up about us for 5 minutes) so they found places they could blow off their steam and found eachother and now they feel like they’re the underground rail road of “true Americans” in their Facebook groups and now on Twitter, acting all smug about how they believe women are property and gays should be allowed to exist. Like these are truely controversial topics. You took people who already felt superior to others and then gave them something to complain about that also has a really fun consequence of pissing us off. So now they get to be d!vk AND a “hero”

Social media is optimized to drive the Justin Jefferson and JJ McCarthy Cartoon American football wide receiver T-Shirt but in fact I love this most engagement possible. People are more likely to engage / leave comments etc when they are angry, offended, or upset, so social media algorithms sway in that direction. Being based and normal is boring, it doesn’t drive internet velocity. Same concept that reality tv shows etc are always manufacturing drama. 24 hour news cycle which has dissolved from actual news to entertainment, it’s WWE just as scripted and fake, and the match never changes red vs blue….and dipshits who watch that shit just root for their own teams and believe their team is infallible Because both sides assume that the only possible explanation for anybody having views that are different from their own is that they must be evil. There can’t be any other explanation for it apparently. These people are insane, unhinged, and should be blatantly ignored by the rest of us. Anybody with a brain cell will at least try to understand why others may see things differently even if they still disagree. You used to call others stupid not evil.
