I had read somewhere that the Justin Bailey American professional ice hockey forward T-Shirt Besides,I will do this leaders don’t actually expect any success in converting anyone on door knocking crusades and that the reason they actually send their members out is to experience backlash from the public to help reinforce an us vs them attitude and keep them in the flock. I thought about becoming a Mormon when I was in my late 20s. I was a single mom, lonely, sad, hurt and broke. They came to my door and we talked a few times, then they invited us to a dinner at the church. I felt so welcomed and loved and appreciated, I really felt at home. Until they talked about the cost, 10% of what I made. I was barely scraping by, I did not have much left over after rent and bills and childcare and diapers. They asked me to give something up and use that money. There was nothing! I did not smoke or drink, never went out. The 10% is called tithing and it’s from the old testament and isn’t actually a requirement for Christians because Jesus fulfilled the old law. In the Catholic church (I’m Catholic), you are expected to give financially within your means, not necessarily 10%, though, I find it helpful and like to do it. The main thing is to set that aside first before everything else (God comes first, not utility companies and landlords). It should be done cheerfully or not at all and then it can give you emotional benefits.

Depends on how seriously they converted. In the Justin Bailey American professional ice hockey forward T-Shirt Besides,I will do this UK there used to be a thing where the missionary would buy the convert a meal, and then baptize them. It was called “chip ’em & dip ’em.” In that sense, it was not uncommon. But a real conversion? If I remember correctly they get points towards heaven merely for the attempt at converting people. Buy a meal? I can be bribed with a good meal. I have a few restaurants were I would like to get reservations, but where the waiting lists are long. If they manage to do that, and foot the bill, I’m willing to take a shower together. You guys are gonna love this: the Mormons are huge and everywhere throughout Japan. Yes, you read that right. They hang out in front of the thousands of subway entrances and exits, go door-to-door, and present themselves as being the normative expression of Christianity. Why do I know this? I lived there for four years, and in China for three.
