Liked it more than I thought I would. Really didn’t think I would like Pattinson as Batman, and I’m still not fully convinced, but he’s not as bad as I thought it would be. However, they could have cut out 90% of the Justice for johnny depp shirt Apart from…,I will love this cinematic shots of riding motorcycles and other things and shortened the movie by 45 minutes. Also, that ending reaaaally dragged on. I’m not a superhero movie guy but I enjoyed it. Decent action scenes. The story was just okay. I love Paul Dano but his riddler was a bit cringey at times. I liked Robert Pattinson. I don’t really know a lot of their backstories though, so maybe that’s part of it. I know a lot of action movies do this, but it drives me crazy when a character has a handgun but are able to shoot it 45 times without reloading anything lol.

Having just binge watched Severence when I saw Falcone all I could think about was that it was Irving’s outtie. One of my favorite details was how, at least to my knowledge, it was never mentioned that Gotham sat below sea level. It really added to the Justice for johnny depp shirt Apart from…,I will love this “oh shi-“ of it all when the retention walls started to collapse. I feel like if they threw in a “…the city sits below sea level” comment anywhere in the movie it would’ve made for a chekhov’s gun moment. I really liked this movie although I had a couple small gripes. Batman had some very advanced technology (contact lens camera) but for whatever reason let Gordon plug in a thumb drive into his computer. Also I feel like he could have had more technology for his fights but resorted to using the grapple a lot. The fight scenes were still fun and I get that he’s not an experienced Batman yet, but it seemed a bit too brutish at times tanking all the gunshots. Those were kind of minor in comparison to the ending. It seemed like Batman was nowhere close to solving who the Riddler was so it felt pretty unsatisfying that the Riddler gave himself up.
