It all comes down to where you live, making 60k is common in the northeast, due in part to the higher cost of living. All it takes is dedication, yk a very easy and low risk way of getting a good paying job, a construction union, even as an apprentice you make really decent money compared to anywhere, then after 5 years you will be making top notch provider money, health insurance, retirement, PAID VACATION DAYS, like if anyone tries to argue “construction workers make so much because of overtime” bro my friend used to be in the union on his 4th year of apprentiship and was making 30 an hour take home pay. (If you didn’t know take home pay is what you make after taxes) on his 4th year of apprenticeship, you do not need to work overtime to make money in construction it’s just a way to make MORE. I agree. I do not have a Bachelors and it’s very hard for me to earn $60k. I’m over halfway done with my life and only just recently managed to hit that figure (just 3 months before i quit the job because of burnout).

No degree, just a few college credits unrelated to my career. I grew up poor as shit (father worked in flea market), and I make $385k in my mid-30’s as I’ve moved up the corporate hierarchy. My father thinks it’s super hard to make $60k a year, and my parent’s “best” year was $50k a year combined. He’s still working at age 70, at a Home Depot-like store now.
