I have a bachelor’s degree in game design and computer science and couldnt get a job in my field so id say yes that is extremely hard to achieve. I make i think a little under half of that a year atm. I have 1 full degree and two partial degrees (one soon to be finished) and I’m still on under $60k. Heck, I’m almost under $30k. That said I expect that to change when I complete my second degree in a years time. My sister did it this year as a nanny. But it’s not consistent, she had a year contract. Now she has a new family but a month without work while she’s in between contracts/families. She has zero degrees. Some places you can make that much with a bachelor’s degree very easily. Pretty much anywhere, you can make that much with a degree in CS/engineering straight out of college, and you have a pretty good chance of starting at 60K with degrees in math, physics or chemistry, as well. Also the degrees that deal with money — economics, finance, accounting — tend to lead to starting salaries in that range. Business management often does NOT, unless you went to a “top” college.

It’s to general of a statement. Just working a nice 8 hour day 5 days a week, in a environment that doesn’t suck. then yeah I would agree over 60k is hard to hit in most areas. But just 60k in general with out any other stipulations, nah there’s alot of people that easily hit that every year. Personaly I make 90k as a Industrial Mechanic, work around 55 hrs a week. 6 days a week year round. I have a degree but it’s not related to my field so that doesn’t mean much. I could easily pick up more hours if I wanted, and break 100k, but I get by just fine so why bother. I really think it all depends on the field your in. Im 34, have only a HS diploma, but have been in new car sales since I was 20. I haven’t made less than 120k the past 5 or 6 years and just recently took a corporate job within our company that is 150k salary with between 80k-100k in bonuses. I think sales jobs are where it’s at for the ‘uneducated’
