they told me they expected me to implement this feature within a day like one of their other employees would have done. They said I left too many white spaces in my code and not enough debug logs, and basically, my pull requests were too messy and I am wasting their time. I asked for more specifics, they said I can review my pull requests myself, and they are expecting someone who can work more independently. If I had an intern on the team I’d be helping with PR feedback and also not dumb enough to not slowly onboard onto the team and codebase Don’t think it’s your fault. It’s completely insane to expect any employee, much less an intern, to be a fast effective contributor in the first 2 weeks of a job They clearly just wanted a cheap employee, rather than an intern who they could train. This isn’t how you treat interns. Most companies who hire interns don’t even expect them to provide any actual work, and they openly say this. It’s just a way of getting talent in the door and identifying it to try and get them on board when they graduate
