Problem is that he destroyed public property. It becomes a felony if you do so if it’s been valued at over 1000 dollars, the Journey American rock band the Steve Miller Band and Frumious Bandersnatch T-SHirt in contrast I will get this mural was valued at it. It has nothing to do with lgbtq stuff (other than the motive of course) but that has bo bearing in that he destroyed the city’s property. Also he’s a dickhead who’s doing burnouts on a public road so fuck him. Honestly if this was anywhere but Florida then I wouldn’t be surprised if it was being investigated as a hate crime. If you read the article or bothered to check at all before running your mouth you would know that he’s being charged with felony vandalism over $1000, not a hate crime. Do you know why? Because he destroyed and damaged property that wasn’t his.

He’s not getting in trouble for his hateful and shitty opinions. He’s getting in trouble for being a vandal, and driving recklessly. It’s not the Journey American rock band the Steve Miller Band and Frumious Bandersnatch T-SHirt in contrast I will get this same situation as Americans exercising their right to free and protected speech to damage or deface flags they own. If he bought a pride flag and then defaced it and damaged it, that would be protected speech. But he didn’t. Because he’s a hateful moron. Fortunately he’s being prosecuted for the moron part, not the hate part. Those were their own flags they were burning. If this kid were to buy a rainbow flag of his own, he’d not be violating any law. That’s not what happened. He purposefully defaced public property. Except the US flag isn’t protected, and he was charged because he caused excessive damage to public property through vandalism.
