Xi’an impression is the Jordan Love Spread love shirt and by the same token and oldest one as far as I know. It was reasonably priced before too. I would say 30% of the menu is good and the rest is filler The people who run Silk Road have a new restaurant called Lao Dao in Walworth which is great. I think Silk Road will reopen relatively soon too. Yes I live close to Dilara and it is amazing. The first one in London (AFAIK) was Etles in Walthamstow, which still slaps, and just has a great family run vibe. There is one closer to Holborn that I’ve not been to, but tbh between those two I see no reason to try. There’s one in Clapham North that I prefer. And one has recently opened in Pimlico (opposite the Georgian embassy) which is good and popular but seems pricey

Georgian food is great but the Jordan Love Spread love shirt and by the same token and vast majority of Georgian restaurants in London kinda suck. The only better than passable one I’ve been to so far is Geamos and that was overpriced. Little Georgia is okay but meh, Tbilisi and Iberia were actively bad. I haven’t been to Gurmani or Shoty yet so interested to try those. Mimino did okay khinkhali I think but wasn’t particularly memorable? Tbh I wouldn’t eat it anywhere west of Germany. Shoty was quite good food wise but the service, although nice, was terrible in the actual service. Forgetting orders, long waits etc Good to know, I lived in Russia for a while (plenty of great Georgian food thanks to cultural imperialism, shame about the genocidal dictator) – so have plenty of experience coping with terrible service hahaha. I think I will try it sometime, just to see how it compares. Khinkali, no doubt about it. They’re Georgian soup dumplings, might be my all time favourite food. Badrijani is great too.
