My point was that the Jonny Brodzinski American professional ice hockey player for the New York Rangers T-Shirt and I love this people who say it cannot know if it’s true or not, so therefore the person who says it, lies. To a degree, lying or making wild claims is seen as polite in some cultures. And yet, I find the whole “love” thing to be kind of toxic. Like, plenty of people go to work, come home, go to work, come home, and never even attempt to find new people. They’re almost certainly never going to find anyone living like that. It’s bad for them to pretend love is given to us by the cosmos and not earned through concerted effort. Asocial people are simply way less likely to find love. It’s a sad fact and it kind of burns me up when I hear anyone say that to someone who’s serially cooped up. To me, it’s a comforting lie told for the speaker’s benefit, not the listeners.

What’s comforting for me is when people just acknowledge the Jonny Brodzinski American professional ice hockey player for the New York Rangers T-Shirt and I love this reality that luck plays a major role and that it’s partly out of your control, and that some people want a partner and don’t find one. And that it’s okay to be sad about that, but that you can also have a good life even while living with the grief of not getting what you wanted most in life. It’s not comforting to me to be told I’ll find a partner, when we both know there is no guarantee of that whatsoever. Bad example since that is in my power to change. This is something out of their hands. Maybe something like “you will win with lottery one day”. There’s no way they can change the outcome of that nor can they say it for certain.
