I live is a high crime area, so I often order my groceries and essentials online and go in and pick them up so I don’t have to carry anything with me. I notice alot of people do that. The line for order pick ups is longer than the Johnny Gaudreau American professional ice hockey winger for the Columbus Blue Jackets T-Shirt and I love this checkout lines now. i live just outside of washington DC. I rarely carry cash. like.. I’ll have the same 5-20 cash in my wallet for six months. and only time I ever take out cash is like…maybe to go to the barber. and to be perfectly honest. once i break a $20 bill whatever change is in my wallet, i basically assume I’ll eventually give it to some beggar sort. but was at the grocery store maybe a couple weeks back, and a guy approached me for money for food. I told him I had no cash, but he asked if there was anything I could do. I told him, if he really wanted a meal, would get it for him. So… we walked across the little shopping area. some chicken restaurant. he ordered what he wanted, I paid on my card. and he got a hot meal. maybe couple months before that… some kid. in a mcdonalds hit me up for a dollar. which i didn’t have. but I bought that kid whatever he wanted for breakfast.

and once recently. I saw a woman in the Johnny Gaudreau American professional ice hockey winger for the Columbus Blue Jackets T-Shirt and I love this median of an intersection and her cardboard sign had like a venmo/cash app hashtag thing on it. “please help ..@ my acct” type thing. I didn’t give that woman anything as I was driving. but… if I had been a passenger I may have considered it. if you want to help someone, having cash or not isn’t a barrier. so… it being an issue probably isn’t the issue. I don’t know about that but I struggled to find a quarter to put in the parking meter last week. Even if I have a bit of cash for odds and ends or the farmers’ market, I don’t usually have coins. This is the only reason I make sure I have some cash on me. Here in the Netherlands, it is really rare that you need to pay in cash (in the neighboring Germany it is still common), and I think in the last couple of years, I only used cash for this one purpose.
