Was a uturn not an option? That actually happened to me once. Military base. Cost me about an extra 10 or 12 miles. I was soooo mad Glad to see you at least thought about it, most people would just get mad and think about themselves. Respect to you Completely up to you. On the Johnny Depp That’s Hearsay Brewing Co Mega Pint Isn’t Happy Hour Anytime shirt Also,I will get this one hand yeah it’s nice to cover them for their extra travel, but on the other hand that was their mistake that you had nothing to do with and delayed your delivery by that much. I guess it would depend on some tiebreaker factor like if they’d gone above and beyond grabbing something else in the order that I’d forgotten last minute and asked them to get in addition to the official order, or if they messed something up…basically some sort of factor of good or bad to you that sways you one way or the other.

I normally tip in-app the Johnny Depp That’s Hearsay Brewing Co Mega Pint Isn’t Happy Hour Anytime shirt Also,I will get this minimum acceptable amount just to make sure there’s incentive for any Dashers in the area to want to take my order. Then I’ll give them my actual tip in cash when they arrive, and often it’s at least $10 more or even higher if it’s best to match whatever is about 20% of the bill. If I were in your position but tipping my way, I probably wouldn’t add more because I think I’m already giving them plenty as I usually do, and the mistake again is on them not me. I figure in addition to what I’m still tipping I’m also kinda paying in not dinging their rating or making a big stink about it and adding to their burden even more like a Karen would. I don’t know how you normally tip, but if you’re someone who just tips via the app and sticks to just like 10-15%, unless the driver was being a total douche then yeah I’d tip them a couple bucks more just for the hassle. Though if this sort of thing happens more than once, I don’t know if I’d tip extra in future deliveries because that “15-20 miles out of my way from one wrong turn” could also be a prime example of someone multi-apping and trying to cover it by claiming to have just gotten on the wrong route. I live way out in the boonies of my state and even then with these long county roads, I don’t know too many mistakes or detours that take me that far out of my way to come back ‘round.
