Humans are in a unique situation where we have transcended slightly beyond that. We have civilization and society. We have rules. We have the Joe Thomas Cleveland Tribute American former professional football player T-Shirt but in fact I love this ability to communicate ideas across time and space from those who have learned before us, and we are better for it! We can see that we’re not just mindless life propagators. But that transcendence only goes to maybe 3 or 4 generations beyond our own, and maybe 3 or 4 degrees of separation beyond our own ‘pack’. We make decisions now not just with consideration for surviving through that particular day or season, not just for the safety of our ‘pack’… but for the impact that those decisions may have on our grandchildren’s children, and on how those decisions may impact the ‘packs’ that rely on ‘packs’ that rely on our ‘pack’.

But the Joe Thomas Cleveland Tribute American former professional football player T-Shirt but in fact I love this sad, cold truth is that we likely don’t get much better at it than this. We cannot plan for our needs for 5,000 years from now. We can barely agree on what we need 50 years from now. We have evolved the unique ability to contemplate ourselves, the universe, and creativity. Yet the overwhelming majority of us will continue to fight just to survive, whether that be those living in unstable countries, those suffering under an oppressor, or devoting energies to just make their paycheck stretch to the next. We have a fleeting moment in the history of the cosmos to appreciate the beauty of it all but never get a chance to. Your value to others is directly related to what you can offer them. Financial, emotional, sexual, acts of devotion all are of value to the people in your life. Even your parents love is based on a chemical reaction that makes them feel compelled to care for you The path to realization of the fact that life, and all our experiences, are actually the contents of our consciousness, is usually not an easy one. Unless we have something that jolts us out of our saddle, we are prone to losing perspective. The other part is that even if we do have moments of clarity, and get a good perspective, humanity has evolved so far away from our natural being, that using that baseline is not easy.
