Who fucking cares about this metaverse bullshit, the Joe biden falling off bicycle , biden bike meme T-Shirt In addition,I will do this only thing related to it is constant articles about it and nothing else I’m glad somebody is sinking money into VR as it has insane potential. Facebook are generally terrible at making new products so I don’t see them as the ones to profit from it in the long run. But another major player will build on their work and dominate the market. They want all your digital online activity to be combined into one service that they can manipulate and extort you over. They want control over your life basically. It’s barely know anything about Metaverse, but isn’t it just a video game? So many people can already find the ideas his talking about him so many MMOs, Minecraft, hell…even Roblox. So what’s so special about it?

I like the Joe biden falling off bicycle , biden bike meme T-Shirt In addition,I will do this idea of Metaverse, but I don’t like the idea of one dude controlling it. I’d be down for an open source version of the concept, where people can make their own worlds and what not. But one controlled by Facebook? Fuuuck that. I don’t hate the idea of a metaverse, but i hate the idea of Facebook creating the metaverse. If Zuck wanted it to exist he would create some independent governing body that creates the metaverse so its not such an obvious data collection dump for facebook. I get why. It’s the only future they have. Facebook is 100% irrelevant for anyone under 30. Instagram is getting its ass handed to it by Tik Tok. They need a develop a new technology platform and own everything in it especially ecommerce and search. Hence Oculus. Now whether or not that works is another story. But I get why he’s obsessing over it. It’s existential. The metaverse is never going to happen, it requires people to not only embrace and accept virtual reality as a primary method of media consumption, also requiring virtual reality to become far beyond greater than what it’s capable of today, but it also needs to be embraced by the majority as a suppliment and/or near replacement for daily life, and sorry to say but it just won’t happen, VR is a fad nothing more, Augmented Reality has its use cases and in my personal opinion is far more likely to become the norm in the future through tech like connected glasses (ala google glass) and such. But the metaverse as the Zuck describes it, is doomed to be a failed idea.
