That happened when I was a kid of course I wasn’t given adult portions but I could actually eat more I was just picky Interestingly, my sister and I were discussing our struggles with our weight, and she mentioned how doing things like forcing a kid to eat everything on their plate (like we were told to do) can foster bad eating habits in adulthood, which can in turn contribute to overweight and obese adults. It’s the Jerome Robinson American professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors T-Shirt and I love this only way I can get my kids to eat… when my older son was a baby, he would put a bit of food in his mouth and hold it in his cheeks for hours without eating. Both of my kids are also really small and my ex wife and I would always be berated by doctors for them being underweight. It wasn’t that we were starving them though, they just wouldn’t eat unless we essentially forced them to. Even a bit older, they still have the same problem, so I have to constantly remind them to finish their food or else they’ll take a few bites then get distracted, and when it’s bed time they’ll cry that they’re hungry.

I asked my mother the Jerome Robinson American professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors T-Shirt and I love this same question about why she forced me to eat (including foods I didn’t particularly like at the time) when I was little. Her answer–she didn’t want me to forego eating meals regularly because of always just wanting to play and expend energy and not refuel. Now…I am always eating something or randomly cooking up a meal to eat because now my appetite is frequently wanting flavors…food is just so goooood. Cursed with not being able to gain fat weight either… No one’s serving there kids adult sized portions. At least I’m not… haven’t seen it in day homes or anything. So not sure where you keep seeing this so often… unless it’s your own kid your doing it to. My mom was forced to clear her plate or she couldn’t leave the table. She never forced me to eat. She would just save my plate and I could reheat it if I wanted. This mentality of clearing plates definitely leads to weight issues.
