Oh, I think he’ll be doing some serious time. A repeat felon (past crimes being firearms-related) with another violent crime with a firearm, he faces up to life in prison. Here’s to wishing that’s exactly what he gets. Because Tolbert is a habitual offender, he could receive an enhanced prison of up to life in prison if he’s convicted of failing to safely store his firearms, Potbury said. I guess this is an acceptable alternative if they don’t wanna make guns harder to get for habitual offenders because “something something second amendment” I recall the Jeremy Allen White Film Actor Shirt in other words I will buy this Time Magazine feature in the 80s where they researched everyone that died on one particular day. From memory, 50% were suicides, 25% accidents, 24% were suspects shot by cops and 1% were criminal on criminal related.

Published stats like that should help people understand the Jeremy Allen White Film Actor Shirt in other words I will buy this problem and frame a conversation about the solution.I get that he’s a felon and all but the laws are kinda screwy when it comes to felonies. Hypothetically just because I got caught in some backwards state (looking at you Wisconsin) with enough weed that they deem it a felony shouldn’t mean I loose access to my guns. Possessing a plant hurts absolutely nobody yet I could be marked a felon… which is 100% wrong I know a lot of non-violent felons. The ones on probation that get caught with guns are usually the group that you really don’t want to have guns. I’ve also noticed, they tend to have the guns because they are back to their old routines and groups which is not a good sign for recovery. I’m pretty chill about guns if the owners are safe with them, but I do think having them is a privilege. Ideally, you can earn it back, like the right to vote in some states. Point still stands. I also think people charged with DV, have non-trespass orders, have restraining orders, have committed violent crimes, or have committed physical abuse against a child should also have to earn back the right to a gun. From working with people on both sides of those situations I know that those acts of violence don’t occur in a vacuum and are not one-time things usually. Many of my clients that were charged with these things honestly didn’t have the insight to understand why what they did was such a big deal and often continued to push boundaries. Even with people like me who really just wanted to help them be able to stay out of trouble and make less chaotic choices. Many got there, which was wonderful, but until then, I’m more likely to be able to dodge or outrun a punch… or just survive a direct hit. Bullets, not so much.
