I’m a little tired of people asking why billionaires aren’t doing more to help the world. Is that what we want? To rely on the very rich to address the world’s problems? Maybe it might be better to tax these people appropriately, send aid to poorly development parts of the world, and let them decide what is best for their people? Making videos about how you’re solving anything by drilling a handful of wells and walking away is easy. The hard work is sticking around for years to make sure the program is effectively meeting its goals and correcting things as they need addressing. Billionaires are not good at this, governments are. Basic answer: Mr. Beast is the only person with the resources to do a philanthropic project like this who can also actually see a profit from it.
