Whenever I go to a restaurant I’m unfamiliar with I will quickly scan the Jahmyr Gibbs & Amon-Ra St. Brown Detroit Victory Dance T-Shirt Besides,I will do this whole menu to find one thing that I will probably like, then spent the rest of the time agonizing between every other item on the menu until the waiter comes for the order. If I don’t find anything else on the menu that I would like more in that time, then I just order that first thing I found. This works well for me when put on the spot, but often leads to less adventurous food choices. If I know in advance what restaurant I’m going to I will “obsessively review” the menu online and in secret, then when I get to the restaurant and confidently open the menu knowing what I want immediately panic because their online menu is completely different than their actual menu and I’m back to the quick scan and pick one method, and now as a bonus whatever I order comes with a free side of betrayal.

Ugh I hate when I find a menu image online and then go to the Jahmyr Gibbs & Amon-Ra St. Brown Detroit Victory Dance T-Shirt Besides,I will do this place and the menu looks the same but the slight difference is the thing I wanted to order is no longer on the menu. I ordered something to go, and before the cashier rang me out, I realized I was lying to myself and that I really wanted the burger with onion rings on it, and was brave enough to have her change the order. It was the right choice. I studied the online menu before brunch for about 20 minutes. Then my inlaws picked a different restaurant at the last minute. As a server, I try to get ahead of people who might have menu analysis by offering favorable pairings and asking guiding questions. Sometimes people just want to be told what to get. It’s far often better to suggest an item than to give them free reign and choose themselves (due to the anxiety). My husband has this so bad that I always have to order for him when we go out to eat. Luckily, I know what he likes, and I have no ordering anxiety. My anxiety comes from the waiter hovering over me when I haven’t even had a chance to even look at the menu and when he goes away to give me a minute to look then guaranteed it will be impossible to find him again. My friend dealt with something similar to this that he just called “option paralysis”— he said it would also happen when he had to pick out a specific item at the grocery store and was presented with a huge selection.
