I am currently in couples therapy. It’s best to be proactive about your relationship, stop modeling your relationship around the relationships of others and mold your relationship to the needs of the persons involved instead. Also learning to ask questions instead of assuming your partner feels one way or the other, treat each other with respectability, dignity, and love. Now remember this is both of you, not just one of you doing the work. Also if you’re doing the above trying to get your partner to reciprocate, understand that this will not make them treat you better, you have to start at a place of mutual respect and understanding.
