Minimum wage was, and is, intended for those just starting out in the workforce not people who have been working for years. Higher minimum wage pushes all other salaries up. That’s why grown ass adults care about it. Also because grown ass adults are having kids who will one day be making minimum wage and they want better for them. Heres my take and it seems a little underrated. I agree minimum wage needs to go up, BUT I dont think it needs to be 15 everywhere. In states like California, Washington, California or whereever else where the cost of living is high I agree they should raise it to 15 dollars. Now me a guy who has lived in the midwest (Nebraska and Iowa) I can say that 15 an hour is more than I need. Would it be nice? Of course but it isnt needed to live, which is what minimum wage is. It isnt for so you can be paid enough to buy Starbucks everyday or go get fast food every day for dinner. If you arent throwing your money around you can get apartments for 600-700 dollars and espeically if you share it with someone you can afford it easily.

If you have no skills why should I pay you lots of money when literally anyone can quickly be trained to do your job. I currently have a class A CDL a crane operator’s license and a military background. All of these things make it so I can demand much higher prices. People are just products increase your value by adding features.
