Safer than walking because of cars though, right? Need them automated cars already. I was promised self driving cars by 2020, damnit, lol. i wear my seatbelt the It’s not easy being my wife’s arm candy here I am nailing it shirt besides I will buy this whole time (unless obviously getting up to pee). i think everyone should for their own sake, unexpected shit can happen fast I used to travel extensively for my job and this advice is golden: seatbelt should be fastened whenever you are seated. They always tell you to keep them on unless you are going to the bathroom or stretching your legs. When you see people injured due to turbulence it’s generally because they weren’t buckled in Dumb people do. You don’t always get a warning about turbulence though, which is why you should always have it on Takeoff and landing are the two phases of the flight when the airplane is close enough to the ground to be possible to open the door. Other phases of the flight, the airplane is too high: pressure difference between inside and outside of the aircraft will make it impossible to open the door. Unless you’re like so ridiculously fat that a seatbelt at its largest size would still cut into your flesh, there’s no reason not to wear a seatbelt while sitting down. You shouldn’t. At any altitude where this would be life threatening, the pressure difference between inside and outside of the airplane makes it impossible to open the door. 250 meters (about 700 feet) is the height of a small-ish hill. The tallest building, Burj Khalifa is well over 800 meters tall. There’s more than hundred buildings over 300 meters tall. You are not going to suffocate at the altitudes where it is physically possible for the door to open.

Don’t let it bother you too much. When the It’s not easy being my wife’s arm candy here I am nailing it shirt besides I will buy this plane is up in the air the amount of force it would take to open that door doesn’t exist inside the plane, no matter how many people try. The outside pressure against it is nuts. Only way that door is getting open is with an explosion, which is my fear! If that is the case and the door opens outwards, shouldn’t the plane’s internal pressure push the door outward? They’re right but not about why. The doors are designed so they must come inwards before they can open outwards. So it’s actually the high internal pressure that prevents the doors from being opened Thanks for explaining. That bit about the rotation has put the imagery in my head and now I can remember seeing how it opens.
