An interesting thing also occurs when you change “trans” to “conservatives” – it actually becomes a hell of a lot more accurate The poor poor conservatives. So put upon! So oppressed! Having to respect the It’s a philly thing philadelphia 76ers philadelphia phillies philadelphia eagles philadelphia flyers Shirt it is in the first place but fact that other people exist and if you go around being hateful, you’ll get it right back. And did you hear? They’ve banned wearing MAGA hats in Tennessee and pulled all the Ayn Rand and Jordon Peterson books from schools in Florida! Remember the time when the Trans rounded up all the Nazis and killed them and destroyed all their literature and erased their history? Let’s say the original tweets had the same content but instead of trans said nazis. Then we did the same experiment as the post says and replaced nazis with jews. It wouldn’t invalidate the truth that nazis are evil because we replaced the whole word.

The main point I think should be that trans idealogy doesn’t affect anything big, so these right wing assholes just need to chill and stick to their own lives. Nazis are a political ideology based on hatred and genocide. Being intolerant of Nazis is not the It’s a philly thing philadelphia 76ers philadelphia phillies philadelphia eagles philadelphia flyers Shirt it is in the first place but same thing as being intolerant of trans people. Of course I agree with you. The problem is the exercise in this post simply doesn’t make sense to shed light on why someone is being hateful or not. If we just replace words with other words, we twist things to mean different things especially when both parties don’t agree on the equivalent virtue of said words. For example, if we instead of keep the word trans and instead replace the negative sentiment the original tweets had with positive sentiment, we can’t just say to the authors, see, you actually love trans people. That’s the equivalent of what’s happening in this post in the mind of the original tweet authors, it’s not getting any logical point across. Fundamentally nothing has changed. They’re both sweeping generalizations against innocent groups. Its only changed meaning if you believe that the original tweets applies to trans people accurately in some way that it doesn’t apply to Jews. Nazis are the attackers. Changing those words completely changes the power dynamic. That’s why your comparison doesn’t work, but the one in the pictures does.
