That doesn’t mean that I’m necessarily hopping over to the middle/right lane immediately. But there’s almost never the case where I can’t find a comfortable gap to merge into to let them pass within like 1 minute or less. 95% of the time this isn’t even going to cause me to need to cancel my cruise control. These people do this to basically police traffic. I never do this because I know people are in a hurry. I wouldn’t want anyone holding me up if I was running late. Yeah, the ones who are going slow in the left lane are morons but there’s plenty of people who just sit in the left lane who are still passing people, but not as fast as the person behind them. I have to drive a bit for work and I’ll sit in the second lane from the left and pass on the left when needed, but I’ll pass on the right too. Makes no difference to me.

If all lanes are going the same speed with a ton of cars it’s a different story, but on a 3 way highway where the right 2 lanes won’t go above 70 and I’m going 90, im staying in the left lane When I first started driving around 16 -18, I was adamant that if I was going 5+ the limit, there was no reason to move over to allow someone to go even faster. The logic was that I was helping to prevent excessive speeders. I don’t do this anymore. Too many of y’all crazies think that if you cant arrive a few minutes early to your destination, that its worth attempting to kill the person holding you up, so I only drive in the right and middle lanes anymore. The people are much more chill over there. Because where I live the roads are SHIT. The infrastructure has gone to hell. Since everyone drives on the right side, it’s twice as bad.
