I had this problem with a restaurant job I tried to keep into college. I told them weekday daytimes were off limits, he kept scheduling me for them anyways. I quit after a month, good jobs will not do this to people. It is the Isn’t it Byronic 2023 shirt in addition I really love this MANAGER’s responsibility to notify you if your regular schedule will change, well in advance so you have time to prepare. I worked for a box hardware store that likes the color blue for a while. They did this kind of shit all the time. I set boundaries and quit cause f em. There’s an easy solution to any scheduling conflicts. As a business your policy should state that the work hours will be posted at X time (Day of week and hour). Any changes made after that time must be reported to any employee who’s shift has been altered when the change is made. Write the policy down and share it with everyone. Yea, I know, it should be obvious, but people like to place blame so make it official. Most of these companies use programs for this, afaik you should be able, as a manager, to see who made the change? Like, employee is not there, employee says they werent informed, thats where you check the plan and who changed it. And go talk to them. But not like that to the worker whos clearly uninformed about the change. Some people really are only “leader” in title, and have zero actual reason to be one.

Had something like that at my job. The schedule screen was updated, changing my start time and hours drastically. When I didn’t know, I was told it is my job to check the Isn’t it Byronic 2023 shirt in addition I really love this schedule screen weekly. But the thing about the schedule screen is, no one so much as told me it existed. It was added to the break room one day without a word, displaying a list of names that were not mine. I had no idea what it was. I’d see people checking it from time to time, but they all people who worked a totally different job than mine and who get updates/communications in a totally different way. I assumed it, like many things around the building, was only for them. No one told me what it was for or how to use it. For months we kept getting schedule changes the way we always had, a consistent start time with our manager notifying us directly if there were any changes.
