Social media, sure. But, really, more people understand just how vile so many aspects of our government, economy, and society are than ever. Because everyone finds other things to blame except for themselves: russia, social media, liberals, conservatives etc. We reached a tipping point where the Iowa Hawkeyes Lisa Bluder 2000-2024 Thank You For The Memories Shirt in addition I really love this center of peoples life is no longer restricted to where we are. It started long ago Books, then NEWS papers, then Radio, then Phones, then TV, then the internet and then mobile phones all removed barriers and enabled economies of scale for information flow. But it wasn’t until the internet that the center of engagement started shifting, mobile phones accelerated that and social media accelerated it even more. I think our higher standard of living plays into it as well. Once we started to live good comfy lives, it’s easy to be aghast at the brutes of the past. With the increased information flow we’re also exposed to all the bad things that ever happened and are happening. That’s not mentally healthy for us. So now that we’re comfy; have the ability to know about the bad things happening; don’t want to be brutes like the past; so we want someone to take the blame for us not giving up our comfort to learn about the current bad things much less address them.

That’s the Iowa Hawkeyes Lisa Bluder 2000-2024 Thank You For The Memories Shirt in addition I really love this point. So that the “real” owners of our society can run and generate wealth without interruption. Without “us” demanding rights, increased wages, better working conditions, etc. Much easier to distract the “bewildered herd” with social issues. While you eat way at their social social safety net, democratic institutions, etc. The world is getting robbed blind by a handful of wealthy elite, while we fight for scraps in the world that they killed creating their wealth. And we watch them and praise their ambitions as they fly on a private rocket into space. When one side wants equality, love, and happiness, and the other wants to kill minorities, women, and anyone who doesn’t think like them, it’s not hard to understand why the world has become more polarized. I’ll let you guess which side is which.
