Please show my the In the scary night stranger things shirt and I will buy this official GOP platform that says that. Yes, Republicans don’t want federal funds to be used for abortion or even counseling that might refer to abortions. But where does it say they appose abortion a second after conception? Yes, some believe that, maybe as much as 10 to 15% of the country. But that’s like saying all Democrats are OK with abortion while the umbilical cord is still attached, which is clearly far from the truth. The GOP doesn’t have an official platform that seeks to enact white nationalism either, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t what they consistently do every time they have power. The fact that a dozen odd states have total abortion bans in place. No time period indicated, just total abortion bans. But that’s like saying all Democrats are OK with abortion while the umbilical cord is still attached, which is clearly far from the truth.

The problem is that it isn’t. While Democrats often squabble and argue internally (See Manchin/Sinema) , Republicans vote as a unified group with no dissent allowed, usually towards the In the scary night stranger things shirt and I will buy this most extreme option available. While I am pro choice it does seem life begins at conception. Like genuinely where else would it? Theres independent unique DNA pretty much at the point of fertilization, I dont think abortion should be banned at that point but it does seem like the most true answer. Do you think life begins at conception in all areas, or just when discussing abortion? I don’t know anyone who thinks you should be able to get life insurance on a zygote or thinks we should print death certificates for the millions of embryos which naturally miscarry. 10-20% of pregnancies miscarry and there were almost 4 million births in 2018. Why isn’t anyone talking about the tragic death of 4-800,000 human lives? Your definition also means IVF always entails mass murder. Everyone draws a line somewhere, and I doubt you actually draw it at conception most of the time. Since Roe we’ve generally drawn the line at viability. That makes sense to me because the fetus is borrowing the functioning organs of the mother and can’t survive at all without extreme medical intervention.
