You mention that your specialties include cosmetic surgery, as well as facial plastics. Some family and friends of mine have had to learn the hard way over the past couple of years that there are many providers in the field using the “plastic surgery” title without the training background, for reasons we can all imagine. I understand you are board certified in Dermatology, however from my understanding that is nowhere near a Plastic Surgery training background (which I have read is 6 years of training exclusively in plastic surgery, sometimes more). I know that some otolaryngologists complete one year of training to become “face surgeons” but that is also not part of dermatology either. You mention you are a cosmetic surgeon, but neither your training implies a surgical background nor do your services include cosmetic surgery (rightfully), such as facelifts, nose jobs, breast implants, tummy tucks etc. Again I am just hoping for clarity seeing as the number of providers with new names for specialties is growing year by year, and i think we as consumers deserve to educate ourselves and ask these questions up front. Obviously when you are removing faces and involved in some of the most cutting edge, science-fiction-esque treatments you need to have a deep understanding of anatomy, scientific principles, and surgical skills to be a part of this type of team.
