One of my worst nightmares is finally saving enough of my pennies for a down payment on a starter home only to end up having to deal with a HOA. I’d rather live out my days in a SRO and have to share a bathroom with the In october we wear purple for domestic violence awareness classic shirt But I will love this down and out than to have my property be subject to the whims of the local korpulent karen klan–a privilege for which I would have to pay. Forever Home. Episode: — Sent from Podcast Republic. “it’s not about money, but you have to use stripe so I can see how much you made to make sure I get the whole 10%”

Step 1: Commission local artists to paint Karen in compromising positions with men, women, animals, household objects. Step 2: Sell at HOA-mandated garage sale. If she complains, say commissioned art is definitely a luxury item and your choice of subject is protected speech. My “required garage sale” would be a single sock, not even a pair. I’d send text updates about every 10 mins to let her know that it hasn’t sold yet. So, what can be done about this? I have never owned a home before and about to close in a new build soon with HOA. If HOAs get ridiculous like the In october we wear purple for domestic violence awareness classic shirt But I will love this post above, there is something you can do right? Is it even legal? Yikes. Sounds like a good way to show people who to burgle first. How can an HOA require residents to not only have a garage sale, but also to pay the 10% to the HOA? If I’m in an HOA and I pay HOA fees, that’s my % to the HOA. No more. This isn’t legal is it? Why would a “top earner” ever want to have a garage sale? A true “top earner” gives away the stuff they no longer want, even if it’s expensive. Or, they pay someone to come haul it off. No rich person I’ve ever known would be caught dead having a garage sale. HOAs are so entitled. I used to work in code enforcement, enforcing building codes and county ordinances. The HOAs would call us nearly daily to complain about neighbors violating their private rules, or “covenants”. It was so annoying to have to explain every time that their little agreements weren’t laws. You might as well call us because your kid didn’t clean his room.
