As a nation, we obviously need to help unhoused persons get out of that shitty situation. I recommend watching Invisible People on Youtube. It’s humanizing interviews with them. There’s 89,000 homeless people in L.A. They aggressively panhandle and scream at pedestrians and are overall extremely unpleasant to deal with. I hate going to the city now. Many parks have been taken over by them and the stench of piss is just so fucking overwhelming. Yes, they need help, but goddammit, we can’t just accept this situation where the city is unlivable for people without mental illness, without drug addiction problems. There is housing for them, but it would require sobriety and living by some rules…and a lot of the unhoused would just rather fucking not. Why try to get better when they can just keep carrying on, making life miserable for the rest of us, trying to walk and live in the city? The republicans running for mayor are campaigning on solving the homeless issue. I don’t trust them to handle the issue appropriately, humanely, sanely…but shit, I’m just so tired of the garbage and piss…and even shit all over the fucking city. It makes me sick.

But I promise you that those who are convicted will not be incarcerated long term. Our country is too spiteful to house people who refuse to cooperate in this broken archaic system. Someone should buy a lot of acreage in Tennessee and offer to allow a homeless encampment to be built for religious purposes(tied to Christianity due to Tn’s policies ofc)… If everyones in jail we have less rights and pennies for wages. We can’t communicate as easily large scale either. I’m sure the Supreme Court ruled a few years ago that you can’t indict a homeless person living on the street since that violates their 4th amendment right.
