In had a follow up surgery 20 years later and mild but chronic gastrointestinal issues from the In memory of December 12,2022 Mike leach thank you for the memories signature shirt it is in the first place but intestinal bisection. Not me who was shot, but I had a patient who shot themselves in the foot and said it felt like pressure and searing heat. Lol them aren’t the only times I have been shot at. Even fishing, people have shot at me. Getting caught in compromising positions have got me shot at on 2 occasions. It’s all good It feels like being punched really hard, followed by fire and searing discomfort. Although honestly, a broken bone hurts worse IMO. Maybe the difference is adrenaline. Closest I had was a ricochet hit me in the neck. Stung a little bit then it stopped but then the blood started and I thought I’d die. Chunk got stuck in my neck and I pulled it out when I realized it was maybe a couple mm deep. Pressed a rag into it hard and after a few minutes I was fine and kept on shooting. Just not at hard shit right in front of me anymore. Hurt slightly worse than almost cutting off my finger but not as bad as recovering from eye surgery. I was shot in the head and didn’t feel a thing. Woke up looked in the mirror and had a birthmark right where I got shot. Then I woke up forreal, weird dream I was shot in the chest when I was 13 (29 now). The bullet collapsed my right lung. It didn’t go all the way through, so it’s lodged in-between my shoulder blade and shoulder. Anyway, it was a .22, and point blank range. I Didn’t even feel it, or know I’d been shot until I looked down and saw the small hole right in the middle of my chest. I remember Chopper Read describing being shot “like being punched, but with a hot needle in the middle”. Being stabbed was much the same, except the need was cold.

This is a great question. I was shot in the In memory of December 12,2022 Mike leach thank you for the memories signature shirt it is in the first place but leg (the calve specifically) and like others said, it feels like a hard punch from a tiny fist. Your body does a really good job of numbing what you cant see. When i saw it though, thats when all blood rushed out of my head, got woozy, pain increased to probably a 6 or 7 out of ten. Then the blood just oozing made me pass out. I thought I died but then woke up with my leg wrapped up and in an ambulance. I also have a brain malformation that (before surgery) caused 24/7 pain. Pain i would say is about 8-10 on the scale at all times. Migraines, body pain, atrophy, etc… The surgery recovery (im allergic to opiates) was a 10/10 hands down. “Roughly speaking it was the sensation of being at the centre of an explosion. There seemed to be a loud bang and a blinding flash of light all round me, and I felt a tremendous shock — no pain, only a violent shock, such as you get from an electric terminal; with it a sense of utter weakness, a feeling of being stricken and shriveled up to nothing. The sand-bags in front of me receded into immense distance.” “All of this happened in a space of time much less than a second. … I had a numb, dazed feeling, a consciousness of being very badly hurt, but no pain in the ordinary sense.”
