Unfortunately, I find it mind-numbingly boring and existentially demoralizing. Instead, I swing wildly between hyper interest and dysphoria, both of which serve to divert me from my adult responsibilities like daily hygiene, domestic chores, and working. It’s suboptimal and exhausting yet no amount of therapy or drugs have managed to change my behavior. I had a bedroom that was maybe a notch or two below this and my mom would yell and scream humiliating things at me about being a hoarder. Little did she know the important distinction that I would have cut my leg off to have someone clean it for me, whereas a hoarder would cut their leg off to make sure nobody came and cleaned it up. having cleaned multiple times for overwhelmed depressed hoarders, i can assure you that this kitchen will only end up like this again unless someone comes to clean once a week. people like dont need help, they need executive functioning skills.
